From the dam to the castle ruins + a refreshing swim and dinner at a mountain lodge

A pleasant hike around the lake, discovering the panoramic viewpoints, history, and nature of Fiastra.

We will start from the spectacular Ruffella viewpoint, then descend to the lake dam (we will walk across it!), learning about its history and technical features.

We will continue along the lakeside trail, where we will stop for a refreshing swim in its clear, turquoise waters. We will then keep following the shoreline, enjoying beautiful views of the lake until we reach the village of San Lorenzo al Lago.

From here, we will climb for the final section leading to the ruins of Castello Magalotti. We will learn about its history and enjoy one of the most spectacular views over the lake.

At the end of the hike, for those who wish to join, dinner will be available at Tribbio Mountain Lodge in Fiastra, with an à la carte menu. Estimated cost: €25–30.

Requirements
A good level of fitness for walking is required.

• Hiking shoes or trainers
• Long or short trousers
• Dress in layers
• Spare T-shirt
• Rain jacket, K-way, or poncho
• Hat and sunscreen
• At least 1.5 litres of water
• Snacks / fruit
• Swimsuit (preferably worn) with a change of underwear
• Towel for drying off
